Meet the Judges

Sergey Jakimov

Founding Partner, LongeVC

Sergey Jakimov is a founding partner of LongeVC, a venture capital company supporting early-stage biotech and longevity-focused founders that are changing the world. Sergey is a serial entrepreneur, having co-founded 3 deep-tech ventures (including Koatum and Vortex Oil Engineering) and raised more than $50 million in venture funding. He has advised several other startups in the therapeutics space on fundraising, IP protection, and clinical trial strategies. He is also a Visiting Lecturer to several universities on venture capital and intellectual property rights and co-authored a master’s program in Technology Law for the Riga Graduate School of Law.

Since 2018, he has led medical tech startup Longenesis, a cutting-edge company that unlocks the hidden value of biomedical data and accelerates novel drug treatment & discovery. Sergey holds a BSc in International Affairs from Rīga Stradiņš University and two MSc in Political Science and Government and Law and Finance from Central European University and Riga Graduate School of Law, respectively. He was named as a Forbes Latvia 30 Under 30 in technology and healthcare in 2020.

Petr Sramek

Managing Partner at VC Longevitytech.fund

Petr is a Czech visionary, a serial entrepreneur of over 30 years. Petr helps innovative startups in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Longevity technology to grow into confident companies with global ambitions. Petr is a founder of LongevityTech.fund, Entrepreneur in Residence at Singularity University, CEO of Whytics, co-founder of the Platform on Artificial Intelligence at the Confederation of Industry, member of Peter Diamandis´s organization Abundance 360, Lifeboat Foundation, and a Senator for Czech Republic in the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF). Petr is a founder of the AI Awards project in a co-operation with Economia – a leading business media publishing house. Petr has been featured in the group of 28 AI leaders in the flagship World Intellectual Property Organization study.

Philipp Gut

Head of Data Sciences and Precision Nutrition at Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences and Nestlé R+D Accelerator

Philipp is Head of Data Sciences and Precision Nutrition at the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences, which is part of Nestlé’s extensive R&D Network. Over the past years, he has led a translational research program in healthy aging that brings to life nutritional solutions for disease prevention and management of chronic conditions across the Nestlé portfolio. Current work combines biomarkers, smart nutrition profiling and digital ecosystems that enable people to take informed health and nutrition choices and help track success of personalized nutrition interventions. Philipp graduated from Heidelberg Medical School in Germany prior to postdoctoral studies on molecular mechanisms of aging at the University of California and the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco, USA.

Jyothi Devakumar

Chief Science Officer and Partner at Longevity Tech Fund

Dr. Jyothi Devakumar is a scientist, entrepreneur and a lifelong longevity enthusiast. She holds a PhD in biotechnology and her postdoctoral work was in in-vivo delivery systems. She has worked in various sectors of the industry including working as a part of a contract research organization liaising with several ivy league pharma companies in the drug discovery space, as scientific founder and CSO of two startups, and as a consultant in the regenerative medicine and longevity space. In the investing space, she has been a venture consultant, part of a mid-sized venture fund as the Principal Biologist and Partner. She is currently associated with the Longevity Tech Fund group of companies as the Chief Science officer and Partner. She has served on several scientific advisory boards and editorial boards, and she brings in scientific expertise, business strategy and management experience with a multicultural multi-country background.

Max Unfried

VitaCore Team, Scientific Advisor of VitaDAO

Max is a business minded scientist, pursuing a PhD in the Kennedy Lab at the National University of Singapore. His research combines methodologies from AI, Complex Systems, and Lipidomics to investigate aging biology. In the past he held leadership positions in financial and life science startups and obtained a MSc in Complex Adaptive Systems from Chalmers University of Technology.

He is part of the core team of VitaDAO, a collective that funds and promotes longevity research, and a scientific advisor to Longevity startups and Venture Funds.
